Jodhpurs as day wear: women's fashion trend

Written by Lois Waller on 25.11.09

As a classic style of pant and with their multitude of cuts, jodhpurs can almost always be made to work. Sitting amongst Spring 2010 is the new horse riding influence. With silk jodhpurs from Dolce & Gabbana and the check plaid shirts of Ralph Lauren, never has the potential for jodhpurs been so great, nor the styling so varied. As one of 2010's fashion trends jodhpurs will vary from the traditional to the sports, from dark and Gothic, to soft and elegant.

Future warrior: women's fashion trend

Written by Tania Braukamper on 24.11.09

Military fashion may have been big for some time now... but guess what? It's evolving. Ancient warlords and kings have stormed the imagination of the fashion world, and elements of military history have been reinterpreted with a modern - often futuristic - twist. A little wilder, a little more fierce, the new military brings ancient civilisations and their warriors to life for this 2010 fashion trend.

Knee high socks: women's fashion trend

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 23.11.09

In a year in which thigh high boots will be so prominent, this fashion trend should come as no surprise. Normally a humble accessory that most women hide, socks as a women's 2010 fashion trend will be at the fore. And whilst there'll be several styles of socks popular in 2010, knee high socks (and similar styles) will be one of the defining looks to work into your wardrobe. Best of all, they're transeasonal and will be perfect alongside a number of other Winter 2010 and Spring 2010 fashion trends.

Patterned / printed pants: women's fashion trend

Written by Tania Braukamper on 12.11.09

From tailored trousers to skinny cigarette pants, to ripped jeans and leather leggings; over the past years pants have predominantly been worn in block colours. What's more, they'd become something of a basic: frequently worn as a subtle item, while attention was focussed on increasingly-detailed tops, jackets, dresses, and skirts.

In 2010, pants are getting their own back.

As one of the Spring 2010 fashion trends printed and patterned pants are bringing us a whole range of new wardrobe options.

High dress splits: women's fashion trend

Written by Tania Braukamper on 11.11.09

After several recurrent seasons of sexed-up micro minis - lead particularly by the va-va-voom styles of Herve Leger and Balmain - it's time for a new wave of seductive skirts to find their way onto red carpets, into wardrobes, and, most definitely, into fashion magazine editorials. So how to do pure sex without a hemline that's shorter than short? The high split 2010 fashion trend, of course.

Jumpsuits & playsuits: women's 2010 fashion trend

Written by Tania Braukamper on 10.11.09

It doesn't seem that long ago that cutesy playsuits & rompers were a summer must-have (albeit a short lived one). Well as luck would have it, one-piece anythings are back in fashion for Spring 2010. Hot pants & boy shorts: women's fashion trend

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 09.11.09

Many recent fashion trends have pointed to it, and given the popularity of the likes of lingerie as outerwear it should really come as no surprise. Yes, hem lines continually become shorter as time marches on, but Spring 2010 may be the first season where hem lines can be predominantly measured in negative figures.

Patched jeans: denim fashion trend

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 15.10.09

Here's a conundrum for you: what does a fashioniser do to keep up with denim trends given that ripped jeans may leave them chilly throughout Autumn 2009 / Fall 2009 and shan't again be practical until Spring 2010? Simple. Patch them. Or, even simpler, follow the lead of the fashion forwards and invest in a pair of pre-patched jeans.

Boyfriend blazer fashion trend: how to wear it

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 04.10.09

The boyfriend blazer has yet to reach the same levels of popularity as the two fashion trends which influenced it: boyfriend jeans and the boyfriend shirt. Which, for it, is a good thing. While the boyfriend shirt and denim trends have reached commonality and, thus, aren't considered trends anymore, the boyfriend blazer has found new sophistication and will be with us as a part of 2010 fashion trends. In particular, we'll see it amongst Spring 2010 fashion trends.
